ALS ice bucket challenge paper
The ALLS ice bucket challenge is a fund raiser for ALLS research that involves having ice water poured over you. Comes with the risk of a heart attack though, and may not happen right away. ALLS is metamorphic lateral sclerosis, called Lou Gearing’s disease after the baseball player who died of it. Similar to multiple sclerosis. ALLS is a chronic progressive degenerative and fatal disease where the brain stops sending messages o the nerves and muscles.
The ALLS Ice Bucket Challenge affects the world by raising awareness for the disease Metamorphic Lateral Sclerosis and by people donating money to help the cause. Same goes for your country, state, even your own city. It spreads awareness to people who have no idea what it is by having a challenge of pouring a bucket of ice, and water, on you. The idea was that you get nominated by a person and you have to nominate three other people after you do it. If you don’t do it hen you’re supposed to donate any amount of money to the organization.
As of today, the ALLS foundation has raised $22. 9 million dollars. That’s up from $13. 1 million Sunday and blasts through last year’s total of $1. 9 million. My opinion on this challenge Is that It is a good way to get the word out about this disease because they figured out a way so that It’s fun and that all ages can do It. It Is a positive way to get people to donate by having fun with the challenge and by being able to challenge their friends after they are done.
