Other Variables: Yes; there are other variables to consider. Is the entire experiment controlled? If not, then you have to account the physical activity of the subjects as well as their normal eating schedule aside from the doughnut/apple snacks. If the experiment is controlled where the physical activity and food consumption is the same, you would have to consider the physiological factors (genetics, metabolism, etc. ) of each subject.
