Student Involvement Fair Paper
Attending the student involvement fair was a great experience. On the surface, the friar’s main purpose was to provide an outlet for students to engage In on campus actively that may strike their Interest; however, I found It to be much more powerful than that. This involvement fair was not only a way to showcase Penn State and Its nearly 900 clubs, but also a way to draw from each student Interests and talents that may have been unknown to them.
After attending the fair and meeting a several different organizations, I know that I have become a part of something bigger, and will be able to have experiences and be provided opportunities Like no other. Two organizations in particular made a lasting impression on me, one of which is the SUIT Network. Coming too big school like Penn state as a intended film major with little experience, I found the SUIT Network to be an opportunity to expand myself, getting that much closer to my degree. The TV network strives to provide a ewe, hands-on experience for beginners right from the start.
For that reason, I knew right away that this club would be a great start to my new Journey here at Penn State. In time, this club will provide an entire foundation that I can use as a stepping-stone into the world to help me achieve my greatest goals of being a producer. Along with a film degree, I am also pursuing a business degree within the Smear College of Business. At the involvement fair, I had the opportunity to meet other students from several business fraternities. Unlike traditional social fraternities, equines fraternities function on the principals of professional development as well as philanthropic events.
What is most appealing about these organizations is they provide a great way to take a big world, (such as Penn State) and turn it into a small family. The principals on which they operate would allow myself to become Involved In a much less intimidating way. Through their private professional events and community volunteerism, I know that with an organization like Phi Beta Lambda not only will I grow professionally and learn how to apply myself in the business world, UT I will also be given the chance to make a difference In my community.
The Student Involvement Fair Is an event that every student should attend each year. The opportunities are endless, and there will always be more ways to get Involved and experience something new. Of course there Is always room for Improvement, thus for future events, placement of tables and disbursement of attendees can be better controlled to provide an overall more efficient, and perhaps less crowded environment. Nonetheless, my overall my experience at the fair was a reductive one that I would recommend to any student at Penn State.
I look forward to my future within these new organizations that I am now a part of, and to next year’s Student Involvement Fair.
