Although it was a temporary role, I enabled to produce a stunning video, capturing all the basics as well as my own thoughts, the ratings I received was motivating, and may look to engage similar activities in future. I I believe I don’t have any gaps for improvement as I believe I’m effective using my own initiative. I Organization I My organization skills are met in some cases.

As I drive, I am organized with planning ahead before driving, I refer to the weather for weather warning, I carry a spare bulb kit and Jump leads in case of emergency, my organization in that regard has enabled me to keep safe on the road. I I have many gaps to improve on my effective time management, as I both work and study I struggle to balance the workload, at times I panic when I’m in a rush and therefore I don’t consume the time effectively.

I therefore would need to improve my time management skills so that I can spend time effectively, particularly in a professional environment. I There are room for improvements, in my leadership of group activities. I have tended to shy away group activities as I am uncomfortable with authority. Part 3 Reflection Personal development planning is a learning process the activities of reflection (self- review, skills auditing, evaluation) and planning (learning goals, career planning) are central to this process. PDP is about reflective learning. It can be supported by personal tutors and mentors; it can be self-supported through independent activities, and can also be peer-supported through group activities and feedback from peers.

What I learnt was that PDP generally consists of a series of learning activities designed to stimulate reflection and planning. The nature and scope of such activities will vary with the context and level at which the learner is situated. In general, less experienced learners may be provided with far more detailed activities which structure their learning, whilst more experienced learners may be given less detailed guidance and expected to be far more self-determining of their methods for reflection and planning.

For example I have had a lot of help in knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are, with help from my peers I was able to create a skills audit to identify, this enabled me to work on what skills I need to improve on to have to explore in great detail what employers want from new graduates depending on the different sector or industry you chose to work in after graduation. This has enriched me by giving me a broad view of what skills and attributes organizations tend to value from graduates.

Psychometric tests Most employers are inclined to use psychometric tests to assess the suitability of the candidate, Psychometric tests attempt to objectively measure aspects of your mental ability or your personality. I have encountered psychometric testing as part of the recruitment or selection process, I have struggled with it as I didn’t have any practice, with advice from my PDP tutor, I undergo various practice tests to improve me employment prospects.

Occupational psychometric tests are designed to provide employers with a reliable method of selecting the most suitable Job applicants or candidates for promotion. There are two main types of psychometric tests: 1) Ability Tests – Measure your ability to perform or carry out different tasks. 2) Personality Questionnaires – Measure your way of doing things, and specifically the way you interact with your environment and other people. Aptitude and ability tests are designed to assess your logical reasoning or thinking performance.

They consist of multiple choice questions and are administered under exam conditions. They are strictly timed and a typical test might allow 30 minutes for 30 or so questions. I found this very challenging but at the same time rewarding, now I feel confident in applying bobs and believing I can pursue the career I want to achieve. What I have experience during my time on this module is that numerous employers assess your personalities; I found this experience frustrating as the process was long.

Below illustrates what I learnt from it. If you pass this stage in most cases employers will call you for a second attempt at this test at an assessment of skills and personal attributes required for the Job. I believe this is a fair method of selection, providing equal opportunities for all candidates and selecting on merit. They are designed to provide employers with as much information as possible about candidates. The employer will have a checklist of competencies , the essential skills and personal attributes required for the Job.. Through research the general and specific skills also correlate to study or academic skills.

During studies if you are successful in utilizing these skills then it can possibly make you further employable compared to other possible candidates. Although this is a broad topic I have digested these skills in three types: thinking skills, people and social skills & finally personal skills. Reflection on studies During my studies I have established thinking skills through reflection, creativity and innovation, analysis and decision making, problem solving, ability to put theory into practice, action planning and organizational skills & finally client and cultural awareness.

During the same process I have established people and social skills; this was successful through team working, self-belief, influence and negotiation, leadership, networking, interpersonal skills and finally independence. Lastly the personal skills I achieved through this process are integrity and honesty, self- awareness, career management, adaptability and flexibility & finally commitment.
