Organization Study

Retreated trees can and do perform as well as trees that have never been retreated and they do it at a substantial savings over the high cost of new trees. It should be remembered that every major truck tare manufacturer, with no exceptions, manufactures its trees for multiple lives, meaning they are designed to be retreated. Retreated trees give the same mileage as comparable to new trees, at a lower cost-per-mile. The cost of a retreated tare will be generally from 30-50% less than the cost of a new tare. Retreads are not only cost effective, but they are also dependable, reliable and safe.

Retreads are used by truckers with scheduled delivery times, small package delivery companies with guaranteed delivery times, on commercial and military Jets and by most school bus operators. Retreated Vs. Environment Retreating is highly environmentally friendly and should be considered as the best practical environmental option for tare recycling. Unlike other forms of tare recycling or disposal, retreating does not simply defer the eventual disposal of the tare, but actively contributes towards reducing the amount of trees being used and hence saving valuable natural resources.

Retreating greatly reduces solid waste disposal problems. Every tare retreated is a tare saved from the landfill. Retreating conserves hundreds of millions of gallons of oil every year. Retreating is truly recycling. Every retread produced means one less new tare, thereby minimizing the number of new trees produced annually, extending the life of the original product and saving bestially on resources such as oil. The result is fewer trees to be disposed of annually. At the end of their first, second or even third life retreated trees can then be used as a raw material for other forms of ‘deferred disposal’.

This is consistent with the Government’s “sustainable development policy’. MIDAS was founded in 1969 by a great visionary, creative thinker and industrialist from Kraal named George Varnishes who recognized the importance of ‘Retreating well before the retreating sector became popular. He founded General Rubbers with its Midas brand of retreating materials with an initial investment of RSI. 5000 in 1969. At started as a small tread rubber unit in Attenuator near Soothsay (the Rubber town of India). This was a landmark of present MIDAS group.
